Monitoring |
The American Diabetes Association
refers to diabetes as, "a disease in which
the body does not produce or properly
use insulin." Through extensive tests
and studies it has been proven that, with
a tight control of your glucose level,
you can eliminate or significantly reduce
complications - it's up to you - you can
make a difference.
Currently, the best way to
determine your glucose level is by testing your
blood. The primary benefit of self-monitoring is
that it provides instant feedback. With these
results, you can take the appropriate action to
bring your blood glucose in line to the
appropriate range.
It is essential that you follow your doctor's
orders and test your blood on schedule.
Only you can take control of your diabetes
and eliminate or lessen related complications.
You can make a tremendous difference by
knowing your glucose level and taking
action.

To start off this first
newsletter, below are a few of the common
questions our Customer Care department have
received.
Q:
How often should I calibrate
my glucose meter?
A: Manufacturers
suggest that you calibrate
your meter each time
a new box of test strips
is used. Inappropriate
calibration will result
in incorrect readings.
Q: Should
I use test strips that have
expired?
A: No. Test
strips that have expired can result in
unreliable results. Call us today to replace
